P3 GS750 Project

And so it begins…I plan to have this ready for june 4th.

June 4th…2015?

Good luck! I have always loved the GS750/1000s

Started tossing the unnecessary stuff.

Cleaned and sandblasted the both rims and mounting hardware. It took about 8 hours.

Bought some new rubber from Walridge Motors. Thanks for the tip, Rick.

More stuff removed.

Steering head bearings…or most of them. I’ve removed the inner races and will be installing tapered roller bearings. I’ll put a GS850 front end on.

Rear rim painted and tyre mounted.

Removing the engine the easy way.

Ready for compression test, leakdown test and cleaning.

Cut the rear frame.

Rear hoop welded on.

Frame blasted and primed.Starting to do a mock up.

Still waiting on shocks. Using an OEM unit for now.

there is a pair of works performance shocks for sale in “parts & accessories”. $60. they may suite your bike…

project is looking good!

Those are eye to eye, the GS uses eye to clevis. I have a pair of shocks en route. Thanks though.
