Making some progress near the front end…scouring the net for parts is ruining my marriage

Waiting on master and caliper kits…front fender painted
New bearings…need to make up some spacers

will put a couple coats of clear

Looking Good !
… I may have some Parts that I would be willing to Part with … let me know via pm what you need …
Thanks Steve, will be needing a lot for the 250

2.15 front and 2.75 rear…wondering if the 130 Avon will clear the chain?

Slowly making progress
Replaced the master internals even though the 30+ year old ones weren’t all that bad…this is the kit I replaced

Exiting 6 (1983) Will be using a few parts from this old friend on this 350 build

awesome.
What bikes/year are we looking at?
The #441 is a 1978 TZ250E, the bike I raced and sold in 1983. I came across it a couple years ago and purchased it along with a 1977 350D. There was not much of the 250 there, frame body parts, shock and wheels. The 350 is mostly there although I was lucky enough to find a missing swing arm at a reasonable price. I am using the rear wheel from the 250 as it is a 2.75 (wow). I wouldn’t mind finding a little more history on the 350 as there weren’t many in North America as there were no classes they could run in. I suppose they were effective in F1 with some talented hands on tighter tracks. The transmission and clutch are in great shape which makes me think this bike has relatively low miles on it. Serial #'s are matching which is kind of cool.
I know the motor from the 250 ended up in a super kart which begs the question, is it sitting in a dark corner forgotten some where?
BTW picking up parts for the 250 along the way and may run it with an RD motor unless a cheap original comes along.

I always found Mr Yates projects interesting. He hasn’t had a project on here for quite a while, and seeing your projects here is a good fix for me. Thank you for the new entertainment -
Is great to see someone putting together (saving?) some pieces of history - the numbers matching 350 sounds like a pretty rare find nice… Like and following.
Funny thing about the front fender. For some reason it didn’t go with the chassis when it was sold. I have been dragging it around with all my worldly possesions for the last 30 years and no intensions to get back into biking. Also have a good friend I used to race F2 with that had a box full of TZ stuff he had been dragging around that he has donated to the project. I hope he takes my offer to use my Gixxer for the school this spring.
Waiting for parts so I get to cleaning up components. Someone did a great job making these silencers which are obviously not stock.

Project is moving slowly but forward. Finished off the rear brake and added a lot of small bits which have been a pain to source. Things like axle spacers, chain pulls, caliper seal kits, damper bracket and others have all come from overseas. These were recommended on TZ350.com, anyone have experience with them before I go ahead with the rebuild. Not sure I like the hollow crank pins.

Could use some help with front axle spacers, if someone has some time when changing tires to measure these they would be easy to machine. Left and right are the same size.
Also I have an Aeroquip brake line that I would like to use which has a British pipe thread (1/8 conical) which would need an adapter to thread into the Yam caliper (10X1.0mm)
Try Freco Fluid Power for the adapter. Near Hunt Club and Prince of Wales.
The random stuff they have there is awesome.
