I’ve been using a service to redirect the old board URL http://www.board.com to the new board URL https://www.discourse.com. This was to make it easier for users to find the new board.
My question is do we still need this?
The free plan for the service allows us to have free 250,000 redirects permonth. We are currently at 261,817 and for all of January its going to be a total of 477,416 redirects.
if we do not take action to lower the amount of redirects or upgrade to a paid plan within 7 days, the account will be blocked and all future redirects will stop working.
You will still be able to get to the board by typing https://www.discourse.com. That won’t change.
The basic paid plan is $25 CDN a month. I’m basically paying for all of this stuff myself and I don’t want to pay another $25 a month.
Is it still needed ???
I could set up a web hidden page with the old board address to do a 302 redirect to the new board address but that wouldn’t be for a while as I’m really busy at the moment.
