Firstly, a huge thank you to Dean Pattermore for all his work in this area over the last two seasons! He has kept our events moving smoothly and been very responsive to our rider inputs on how to run our starts. Dean has decided for a change of view this season, and will be working in other parts of our events. Thank you Dean!
We are very fortunate to have Chris from RACE to help pitch in at our events assisting and continuing training Joel on the start procedures, and they are doing an amazing job of it! But like all of our positions, one is not enough! Ideally I’d like to see two people step up and commit to learning the procedure. Three people rotating in and out could easily maintain the post and keep the event running smooth. There is some training for this position, and much of it can be done just reading procedures pre-season and being ready to practice in person.
If you think you have an hour or two a day, and are interested in helping out, contact me for details!
