Rick Mercer was with us a few weeks back to learn how to passenger a sidecar at Shannonville … he did well, didn’t fall off, and we didn’t kill him !
Very down to earth guy, and funny too.
The sidecar segment will be shown next week on Tuesday October 12th at 8pm on the CBC - this goes out across Canada and the website is here - rickmercer.com
It’s a big deal for the sidecar guys so pls watch and tell your (motorcycling) friends.

It was a lot of fun doing the show, I think that Rick enjoyed it, although he was rather tired afterwards.
That old bike of yours is going really well - took 3rd overall this year and 1st in the F2 category.

I normally do not watch any TV, but I watched the Mercer report tonight. Excellent coverage, pity you let a first timer beat you all… you reached a lot of people and I would think Chris and RACE would be pleased also. You may have a reason, but it would have been nice to know ahead of time, I would have made the effort to be there for sure, not that I have a bike at present. Now how do you cap that one? yours, Paul.

There was no hidden agenda regarding the filming
Once we knew that it was going to happen we posted the info on our website here in the general area and we only found out Oct 16th
We have a great bunch of members who really want to grow the sport, in fact CHCH Channel 11 which broadcasts nationwide did an article Sept 6th for their Sportsline show on the SRA at Cayuga
The Rick Mercer thing took over 18 months to arrange
but worked out well in the end
We have lots of energy and momentum and intend to grow this sport over the next few years - it should be good for all of us
