RCB1000 project

Thought I’d start a new thread re. progress on the RCB build, as updating the CB550 project thread took a back seat to actually working on the thing! Simon throughly enjoyed the race school (thank you Mr. Voyer et all) and his inaugeral weekend…so much so that we are now busy fixing the 550. Kids :unamused:

So… hear are some pics re work done in May. A lot has been accomplished since these were taken and although not on schedule for NB, Mosport is a definite! Today she’s well off the jig in rolling form with tank fabrication near completion. More pics shortly.

More photos when can Scott. Pretty please?

Awesome looking project Scott, can’t wait until Mosport to see her in action!

Cool deal Scott.

It is gonna be VERY nice, as all your bikes seem to be…

Scott, I’ll be bringing a motor to North Bay for you…
may have to strap it to the hood of the van but it will be there.

Hello…

Here are some more build photos. Everything from a CMR perspective is on schedule to be completed and picked up the end of next week!

Thank you for your comments and thank you Matt for humping the motor up to NB… See you there!

WOW… Cant wait to see it in person.

Real nice Scott. Does it debut on the Friday endurance @ Mosport?

Thanks guys. Yes, the Mosport endurance race will be it’s debut. The plan is to have it ready to display in the VRRA both at Jon’s ABC event on 31st July in Kincardine, then a couple of track days to sort things, and then Mosport.

Scott

Can’t wait to see this up close and watch go down the track.very sweet ride indeed magoo.

Regards Paul

Can’t wait to see it at the ABC Gathering Scott. I’ll be taking lots of pics and I’m sure I won’t be the only one doing that!!!

And, since I’m going to Mosport to watch some racing, it’ll be awesome to see it, and hear it, on the track too.

Hi Scott,

Time for an update, saw your bike at the show, looks great.

Did you keep the 900 mostly stock? Diapers are for toddlers and Triumphs why was the elec run through the bottom of the left cover?

Have you tried one of these modified oil pick ups?

Jim

Hi Jim

The 900 in there now is bone stock except for the left side… Cycle-X Optical ignition. I have another engine that was built for drag racing with Andrews cams and other goodies that will find its way into the frame at some point :sunglasses:

I have even seen or heard of a modified oil pickup till your post…

Scott

Drag motor, more HP is always COOL!!

The oil pick up mod was from an early drag race engine builder John Sands. Apparently the 900/1100 engines can cause cavitation that foams the oil or pumps air at high RPM, another step in reducing breakage.

I haven’t been on the Cycle-X site for awhile they have added alot. I have one of their headers to try, 4-2-1 I think that is the weight as well, it’s pretty a heavy gauge.

Any updates to share on your beauty 1100F project Jim? Coming out to play in 2012?

Scott
