If VRRA sidecar racers had an option for an extra race in front of a big audience would they rather:
Not race another race
Race in St-Eustache June 28th-29th
Race at Mosport August 15th-16th
This is far far far from happening, but i would like feedback anyway, this would only be worth it if most (ALL) of our grid shows up, the goal is to give a good show to spectators and show off the VRRA.
Mosport is my favorite track, though St E, Grand Bend and Shannonville are a close second! I would still be at the regular Mosprt event the following weekend.
There is a race for them at shannonville the weekend before… that would be 3 weekends in a row for some of you…
Also would they be on the track at the same time as VRRA sidecars… not sure how much track time could be available… if 2 time slots are available.. i would rather promote another VRRA class… like P3 or a masters race
Well, half my team wants to be at CTMP. She just needs a rig and a driver - I guess I know where my vote will be!! I do agree with Gary that the short tracks are more likely to have a better show. I just hope that we do not end up with a small number of rigs at the Festival, Mosport can be hard on them.
Ste. Eustache on that date would not be possible for us.
The Mosport date doesn’t clash with anything and is the most central location. Also, spectator numbers must surely be higher there, so we could reach a larger audience. That would be 3 weekends in a row for our team…that would be excellent, (we think).
I also think that teaming up with the modern sidecar teams (same race) would be a great idea, and increase the grid substantially, as this is for exhibition and not points (my understanding).
I don’t think it would take anything away from showcasing the ‘vintage’ rigs. I think that people would enjoy the diversity.
Just some thoughts…
Thanks for putting this out there.
My vote only counts for 40%…so listen to Mike’s 60% whatever his monkey says.
Also, I’d build Mosport that weekend into my honeymoon. Because honeymooning with motorcycles at Mosport is much better than a beach with no motorcycles.
