The Story
This is a rare opportunity to own a legendary “giant killer” with an unbroken, single-family history. Purchased brand new in 1973, this iconic two-stroke parallel-twin has remained in our family for over 50 years. In 1973, my brother raced it at the Ontario Championship Drag Race in Sparta, Ontario and placed first (I can let the First Place Trophy go with the bike). It has been incredibly well-loved, carefully stored, and maintained by a trusted local mechanic.
As I am approaching my 75th birthday, the bike is simply getting to be a little too much for me to exercise regularly, and it is time to find it a good home where its next caretaker can appreciate its history and incredible performance.
Condition & Maintenance
- Mechanical: Starts beautifully, typically on the very first kick. It has required very little repair over the last several years due to a gentle life and excellent indoor storage.
- Electrical: A brand-new battery has just been installed, and all electrical systems operate as they should.
- Originality: Features the correct, classic rounded fuel tank and side panels unique to this era, original Autolube automatic oil injection system (no need to premix fuel), dual Mikuni carburetors, and the iconic chrome dual exhaust system.
