I almost lost it on turn two trying desperatly to learn a thing or 2 from dominic in the heat race. I guess i learned not to try to keep up with him yet!!
Hats off to all the guys who got by me as the laps wore on. Wish it was a 1 lap race 
Steve, you have great videos on your Youtube account, including the one where you and John trade paint at Shannonville, followed by our comments after the red flag ! (that was some race !). Your Mosports vids are also pretty cool eventhough you don’t see me after turn one because you were way ahead…

You were getting around that hairpin very well on the RS…Steve what was it like being surrounded by 2 strokes ! 
Pat, go on Steve’s Youtube channel “rhdracin”, you can see the Shannonville race where you pass like three guys in corner 4. That was pretty crazy.
PAT - i remember that pass on turn 4 . i thought for sure his tires were from another planet built of sticky intergalactic binding compounds. i figure he should have been disqualified since everyone elses tires were from planet earth.
John- it was some kinda alright. i too like the smell of two stroke oil in the morning. I would however prefer to pick up the scent as i pass them instead of as they pass me!!

I have done all my race on this set …they are very old and still stick and almost no use..
anyhow new one for next year.

Nope , I think that is what Sebastian calls “overly optmistic entry speed” I thought I had the TZR going into corner 2 pretty good, then the RS came smokin by Brian and me with a healthy difference in speed..followed by blue smoke pouring off the tires, after that I dont know, I had to look where I was going !
So you dont have alien tires… oh well i have been wrong before. Those little RS’s are fun i got to ride one once, i posted the same time round cayuga with the rs as i had with my 400 and i had several weekends on my 400 before i tried the RS. they corner like mad demons from hell. i wish i was a litle more mechanically inclined i think i would have picked one up by now. sweet machine pat. im envious.
Well as you saw at mosport…they are far from been alien..lol
I though it would take more time doing mecanic on it…but it’s very simple mecanic.
I wrench less on my RS then Francois, Dominic and Sebastien have done on their bike..lol
only thing to look at: is the main jet and it take less then 5 min to change..the remaining is cleaning up.
the biggest thing it the engine overhaul..take about 3-4h when you have all the right tool. (my first time…pretty sure I can do it in 2-2,5h now) and need to be done once a year.
How often do you change the crank ?
There was an RS125 for sale at the race weekend for 1700$ i think…
the crank is good for 2000km.
piston 500km, cyl 1000km
in the vrra, we do a little less then 500km/year. (that’s doing the 4 weekend)
I read a lot of people do 600 to 750km with a piston. and they still do 2 piston per cylinder and/or 4 piston per crank.
the cost involved is more then a 4cyl. but it’s not hard mecanic.
You don’t need to split the cases between crank change…(unles you crash and sand get in it…lol)
the overhaul once a year(splitting the cases) I said is to check everything just to be sure and clean everything well…it’s not 100% mandatory.
