P1 250 Project

Lots of work ahead..

you will get it done rick

Nice bike to start with Rick. I am looking forward to the transformation.
Remember…lots of pics.

Brad

I dunno Rick,
That one looks more like it should be a restoration job rather than a hack it apart and build a road racer from it project, but you’re the boss!
Or… are you looking at defraying the cost of the conversion by selling the (many) stock parts to restorers?
BTW, a TR2 fairing should fit around those pesky carbs that stick out the sides of the motor, but you already knew that, didn’t you?
Now, if you could find some A1-R cylinders for it…
Good luck on your project - and lotsa photos.
Pat

That’s what everyone says Pat. If I had another bike I’d save this one..these little buggers are hard to find in any condition…

interesting smoker bike, what model / year kawasaki is it?

1967 A1 250 Samurai

Rick has the best interests of the Samurai in mind, it really does need to enjoy a 2nd childhood as a P1 racer. Born to be wild or at least green. Certainly needs a proper exhaust and less tinwork.

Lots of progress today…

NICE!
If everybody shows up at the dance, should be at least 3 of these wee beasties running this year if I’ve counted correctly.
Also heard about a race-spec Honda 250 (CB72) lurking about, but might be more fiction than fact and the subject of another thread…
Gonna be a great year for P1.
Pat

Hey Rick..build looks great..
Can I asked how you did the frame?..powder coat or paint?..professional or spray bomb ? etc etc.
Cheers
Scott

I sent it to a machine shop and had it put in an oven and then bead blasted. Plasti-coat alternator paint and the 2 coats of clear…

Cool…thanks for the info
Scott

3 Months later…I rode it for the 1st time today…hopefully ready for the TT…

Wow, Very nice.

Very nice Rick, look forward to seeing it Saturday.

nice one you have there, Rick

Oh my…so this is what it looks like to not waste quarantine time ?
