MidProd 500 Single

Seem to have tracked down a spoked 18" front rim for the TT. Will talk to the guy tomorrow. Got the kick start routine down pat with the TT. Fires first kick every time!!! :smiling_imp: Will start to look at the pipe this week and probably mount the rear tire. Forks look a little pitted, not too sure about new seals on those rusty tubes    . The guy with the front rim has some 35mm forks off some 76’ something. We’ll see what he wants for 'em! Talk soon.

Went to town on the seat foam…plastic seat pan is very light…this is turning out better then I could have hoped…Pictures tomorrow, stay tuned!!! :sunglasses:

Wow, got so excited with how the seat turned out that I forgot to take pictures before I ran the pan and foam over to my cover guy…Just have to wait for finished pics. Got the rear tire mounted (just did not to bead!!!   ) But it finally did and on she went…Looks nice with the Avon. Got the fly wheel off the build motor, but threads are funky on the lightened fly wheel, so having trouble getting that puppy off. Imaging, 27mm left hand thread, can only clean 'em up best I can and sorta force the puller to start the threads. At $12, a new puller won’t be to bad!!!   The welded and balanced crank and the Carrillo rod were a trade for some old CB500 stuff I had lying around…With the lightened fly wheel…Should make for an interesting build. (on the cheap)…Cheers.

What a score!!!    :smiling_imp: Here’s a nice classic build from the UK… :smiling_imp:

Things look like the are moving along.Very cool UK build,if that’s what you are going for.I think the under tail exhaust is a no no.Better make sure.

Brad

No undertail exhaust for me!!! I have enough toxic gases coming from that end as it is…

No undertail exhaust for me!!! I have enough toxic gases coming from that end as it is…

We’ll all try to remember that on the grid next season!

You’re making great progress Brian.

Well, got the front end mocked up minus the front brake. Fork brace looks good, clip ons are comfy ( ), and tach looks like a shoe in…Here’s some pics…Cheers.

More pics…Having fun!!!    :astonished: :astonished:

Not much left in the fit department…Rear sets, caliper, and a pipe (not for smoking) an exhaust…

It’s fun when you have all this crap lying around and it all fits…Well almost!

Belle Job Brian

Juste a polir la finition et ‘‘Fire in the Hole’’

Beau projet.

Great job :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:

Salut

Thanks. Now what do you do when you need a muffler and all you have lying around is a crash damaged Yosh…You go to town with the cutting wheel and a tape measure and voila, new shorty 11’’ Yoshimura RS-3 tailor made for my TT500. A set of good shocks can’t hurt while I’m there ( Thanks Jim Kots for the donation… ). This thing is coming along on the cheap very nicely… :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:

Now this thing is gonna look VERY nice and should be pretty quiet too with the street pack that I stuffed in there..Shocks could use a repaint, but who’s looking…   :smiling_imp:

Nice work Brian, but get a proper strap!!

I don’t know how you can move around in your garage

That plumbing strap is period correct!!! You should have seen my garage 2 weeks ago…

Have a nice set of Progressives on the way from Quebec, care of Roger Belanger. Finished mocking up the pipe, just need to start welding. Tires also on the way. Not much to report really, will post pics of the mid pipe and brackets this weekend. Cheers.

That shorty can should improve your top end…looking good so far!

Thanks Rick. Your carb will give it some good go juice too. PM sent.

Progress!!! Finished the mid-pipe and exhaust…Made the Tach bracket and might run the original side panels. Not as number plates, but maybe a nice spot for sponsor stickers. Maybe I could even find someone time sponsor MidProd!!! Cheers, Brian.
